My wife and I are going to divorce…
March 15, 2013 §
When you read the title of this post, you may feel a little saddened to think that another married couple has thrown in the towel. Don’t be sad! Our love for each other is so deep that it can withstand nearly anything. What I am referring to in the title of this post is a divorce from this world; this system of things we find ourselves in.
The word divorce is usually meant as a legal end to marriage. However, it is also defined as a separation:
: the action or an instance of legally dissolving a marriage
:separation, severance <divorce of the secular and the spiritual>
In this sense, my wife and I are separating ourselves from this world. We don’t find the arranged marriage to be to our taste. I’m talking about the arranged marriage of dependence on the dollar. My wife and I were forced to marry this beast who doesn’t love us, who doesn’t care for our best interests, and who never even acknowledges our existence.
This marriage and it is a marriage, was yoked upon us against our will, and without our knowledge or consent. We have had enough. We’ve already put the wheels in motion to end this Stockholm syndrome
reliance on the dollar.
I’ve said in a previous post
, that we as a society are where we are because we have allowed
the adoration of money to be the driving factor in our lives, and have forgotten how to do anything without it.
We are having a difficult time getting our heads unwound from the web of chains that hold us down. We’ve been conditioned from an early age to think of the chains that bind us as a natural occurrence, one we are powerless to rid ourselves of. It is difficult to live without money, or so we’ve been led to believe.
With faith in God, we are hammering away at the shackles that anchor us to this spot, and very soon we hope to escape in the night, to a closer understanding of God, His creation, and ourselves.
